History & Description

Founded in 1956, Bandung Alliance International School is a private, coeducational day school, offering an American college preparatory curriculum to the international community. Around twelve countries are represented in the student body.

Accreditation

Bandung Alliance International School is accredited by Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). BAIS is also a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), and The Principal’s Training Center for International School Leadership.

Credits and Graduation Requirements

In grades 9 through 12, one credit is awarded for each one-year course successfully completed. One-half credit is earned for completion of one semester. A minimum of 25 credits is required for graduation.

School Calendar

There are 180 school days divided into two semesters. The first semester is in session from August 16 – December 21. The second semester is in session from January 11 – June 8. The school day is divided into eight 45-minute periods. Classes start at 7:45 a.m. and end at 3:05 pm.

Class Rank & Grade Point Average

Class rank is based on cumulative grade point average for grades 9 through 12. AP courses add one additional grade point in the computation of GPA on a 4.0 scale (5.0 A on an AP Course).
