From the Secondary Principal’s Desk

Today was the final day the World Racers served our community. They will continue their journey to Bali and finish up back to their homes in the United States next Sunday. It was a privilege to witness the love of Christ exuding through their service to our community. They served wholeheartedly at IISSAC, led worship, shared testimonies in class, and helped as teacher-aids. After spending three weeks at BAIS they described the community as diverse yet united, having a strong character, accepting all yet valuing individuals, prioritizing academic excellence, and instilling the love of the Lord in students. I could not agree more!

As I’ve had the opportunity to observe more classes, I can attest to the fact that BAIS prioritizes academic excellence. Just this week I’ve witnessed students navigating the nuances of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis and discussing its implications on their worldview. They discussed, debated, and even disagreed in a loving way with their peers. 6th grade students have learned how data can mislead through common graphing techniques. 9th grade students have learned the truths of the triangle. A combined high school class collaborated on producing high quality art. I am continually impressed with how teachers integrate biblical truth while maintaining very high academic expectations.

Including next week, there are only four weeks of classes to complete before semester exams! Remember, SEW is November 21 – 23. It is amazing how quickly the second quarter has flown by. I encourage you all to continue discussing academic achievement and class assignments as we progress toward the end of the semester. Parents, please check Renweb at least weekly in order to monitor current grades. If you have questions, feel free to email the teacher for an explanation. I look forward to continued partnership in the education of your student through the end of the semester!

Blessings,
Mr. Jeremy Thomas
Secondary Principal

CLINIC NEWS

Dear Parents,

I will be doing vision screening test next week for new secondary students and secondary students in the even grades starting from 6th, 8th and 10th grade and will also test any secondary student that has a teacher recommendation. This is only a screening using the Snellen chart, but these results can be taken by you and follow up can be done by an optometrist if deficiencies or questions arise regarding your child’s vision.

Thank you,
Dr. Mayke
