From the Government Liaison

Dear Parents,

With a big holiday around the corner, many families are planning to travel in and out of the country. Here are two important highlights I would like to share with you all.

1. Vaccines

Vaccines are being distributed all over the world, including Indonesia. Different brands and producers are accelerating production to provide many varieties of vaccine with supplies readily available. Meanwhile, West Java provinces are administering the vaccine for elders, teachers, and teaching staff.
For the international community, the Indonesian Ministry of Health released The Regulation number 10, year 2021 about The Implementation of Vaccinations to Control the Pandemic of CoronaVirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) that was signed by Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Feb 24th, 2021. In article number 10, it says that representatives of foreign countries and international non-profit organizations, who are currently on duty in Indonesia, can apply the implementation of the Vaccination Program or mutual cooperation vaccination.
If you are interested in getting vaccinated locally, these are the documents that you must prepared in advance:

For further information, please check updates from your local embassy, sponsors, or visa agents on when and where you and your family can register.
If you are returning this summer to your home country, we advise that you have hard copies as well as digital copies of your vaccination records available during your travel in case you are asked to provide proof of your vaccine. Please inform your families, relatives, or fellow countrymen that may still be outside of Indonesia, to use this opportunity to be vaccinated if they plan to travel back to Indonesia.

2. Mudik Regulations:

Mudik, also known as Pulang Kampung, is an Indonesian term for the activity of migrants or migrant workers returning to their hometown or village for Lebaran/Idul Fitri to visit family and friends. Although the mudik homecoming travel before Lebaran takes place in most cities in Indonesia, Jakarta is the one that is most impacted as millions of people exit the city by using different kinds of transportation modes.
Recently, the Indonesian government (Covid-19 Task Force) released the Addendum Circular Letter of the Indonesia Covid19 Task Force No. 13 Year 2021 and Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower No M/7/HK.04/IV/2021:
“The prohibition of returning home for Eid al-Fitr 1442 H (Mudik) is an effort to control the spread of the CoronaVirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) during the Holy month of Ramadhan 1442 H. The government has regulated the restriction for in-country travelers for 14 days from April 22 to May 5th and May 18th to the 24th while the prohibition of mudik is from May 6th to the 17th.”
You may need to adjust your travel plans or prepare the necessary documents and rapid test antigen/PCR to comply with what is required in the regulations.
