Message from Director

I am humbled and privileged to welcome our community to BAIS and the 20-21 school year. It is a special honor to welcome our new students and parents to the BAIS family. We are starting our 13th year in Kota Baru Parahyangan and are proud of our efforts to strengthen and improve our facilities and educational program to prepare students for their life today, university tomorrow, and their futures. Opening its doors in 1956, BAIS has a long history in Bandung providing an excellent, high-quality Christian education and as we look back at history and see the achievement and success of our current students and alumni, we can’t help but wonder what God has in store for us this year! We are continually thankful for His provision and blessing of a great community of parents and students and of an excellent and professional faculty and staff.

Please take the time to read this handbook and use it throughout the school year as a resource to answer your questions. It contains all the policies and procedures that help our school run effectively and efficiently. This handbook guides the Director’s Advisory Council, the leadership team, and our teachers – you will find the information helpful as well. If you have any questions or concerns about the information, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Additionally, I am aware that it can be intimidating to communicate to teachers or the school when issues arise. Please know that the school welcomes your feedback and desires to communicate. You may email info@baisedu.org or contact the main office to schedule appointments with teachers, staff, or leadership.

One hallmark of our institution is community involvement. Parents, we invite you to be involved in Parents Active in Children’s Education (PACE), the parent organization of our school. Students, consider your interests and be involved in the activities available. We cherish the many gifts and talents you have and the involvement of everyone enhances the experience for our entire community.

Thank you for joining us for the 2020-2021 school year. As a school committed to providing a quality college preparatory education, we look forward to seeing our students become servant-leaders, global citizens, and life-long learners grounded in the truth of God’s Word.

Let’s have a wonderful school year!

Jeremy Thomas, MS. Ed.

Dialogue with the Director

Dialogue with the Director

Parents may always individually schedule an appointment through the front office secretary to meet with Mr. Thomas, Director. The Director also meets with parents four times a year (once per quarter) for a “Dialogue”. The Director will come with a few pieces of information and/or policy to discuss and answer questions, and then be available to answer questions and dialogue with you about your concerns. Historically at least one other administrator joins to help answer specific school level questions. Please come to the Dialogues and we’ll do our best to translate for the different languages. At least one Dialogue a year will be language based (multiple meetings) to help facilitate cultural discussions and answer questions.
