From the Director’s Desk
Dear BAIS Community,
I hope your school year is off to a great start! Thank you for choosing BAIS as the place to educate your children. We are so thrilled to see each and every student that enters our halls and it is our pleasure to serve you!
BAIS is part of a Network of International Christian Schools that serve all over the globe. Every semester, the head of each school goes to a conference either at one of the member schools or at the home office in the USA. This semester the conference will be hosted by BAIS! On September 17-20, you will see 25 or so brand new faces around our campus as we will have directors, principals, and home office personnel on campus. This is a wonderful time for us to collaborate on how we can continuously improve the education provided at each of our schools.
Did you know? The home office receives hundreds of requests from international schools to join our Network every year. But very few are a workable fit with our mission and vision and so we are unable to partner with them. In light of that, our Network did get a bit bigger this year! We have
opened a brand new school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and their first day of school was August 29th. Many of you have been praying with us on the opening of that school so it is very exciting to see it come to fruition! Additionally, we have just had an existing school in Kosovo join our network as well. We are so pleased to see other schools join and realize the benefits of our Network!
Hopefully we will see you all at the soccer games this afternoon!
In Christ,
Mr. Karl Nielsen
BAIS Director

WDWDWD – Why Do We Do What We Do
Why do we have homeroom parents at BAIS?
At the start of every year, PACE, our parent organization at BAIS, works hard to find volunteers who will serve as homeroom parents. The reason we have this program is 3 fold. First, homeroom parents provide a bridge between the parent community and the classroom. They are especially helpful for teachers who are new to Indonesia or BAIS. Second, homeroom parents help build community within each grade by organizing grade level get together for the parents. Finally homeroom parents are in charge of sending out valuable announcements and responding to the grade level WhatsApp group. Next, Monday will be our official launch of our homeroom parents program. Admin would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who agreed to help out this year.
