The Cantrall Family

Dear BAIS Community!

I hope and pray that you and your family enjoy the extended break from the routines of school and work during this Christmas Season. I am so thankful for all of the students, parents, and staff that make up this unique community. I pray this break can be used to reflect and recharge as we consider the significance of the holiday that we are celebrating. Emmanual, God with us!! What a wonderful and amazing truth to consider. The Almighty God is not a distant god, but He is a relational God that made a way for our redemption, a gift, not something to achieve.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newly hired Elementary Principal!

Over the past 17 years, Neil Cantrall has been an educator in a variety of different roles. The past 6 years he has served in our NICS school in Lima, Peru as a teacher, principal, and director. Neil and his family will join BAIS in July 2020. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors and fitness. Kelsey is a trainer and an integrative health coach, Neil especially enjoys surfing, cycling, soccer, and basketball, and the three boys enjoy riding bikes and building with Legos. We are excited to have this amazing family join our community.

In Him,
Mr. Karl Nielsen

Angel Tree

A big Thank You on behalf of Permata Bali Children’s Home! Our Angel Tree program this year has been a huge success!

Many, many thanks + God’s blessings to you who donated money and/or gifts. God bless you for your generosity!

You all donated 7 juta plus many gifts – we were able to spend 3.5 juta of the money to buy the rest of the gifts for each child, youth and worker at the home, and we sent the gifts via J&T so that they will be there in time for Christmas. The rest of the donations we have transferred to Ibu Tina, who runs the home, so that she can buy a stroller for the three new babies they have recently adopted, and also to contribute to their building fund. They are working on raising funds for another building on their property.

I won’t list everyone who donated here, but you know who you are and God does too!

Thank you for being a blessing and may you be blessed too!

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Gratefully yours,
Ms. Jana Dickman

IISSAC Basketball

Saturday, Dec. 14 – Boys @ Trinitas: 27-25

Senior Rio Primandaru sank a pivotal basket to ensure a BAIS victory. He said, “I remember missing all four or five of my other three point shot attempts before hitting the clutch three late in the fourth quarter. It was a rough game, but if anything, I think this game showed us that we are able to compete with any team. Just like soccer, this basketball season has been a process, and we’re still only halfway through it. I don’t know what the outcome of IISSAC or BAC will be, but I do know that as a team, we will be giving our all.”

Mr. Thomas observed, “The game against Trinitas was very physical which made it difficult to score. I’m pleased that we were able to persevere through the pressure at the end and finish with the victory.”

Saturday, Dec. 14 – Girls @ Trinitas: 9-34

Sophomore and post Karen Lee said, “The game against Trinitas was filled with hard work and good effort. Although the other team had skills that surpassed ours, it was a good practice match. We were able to strengthen our teamwork and abilities, which is beneficial to us in the future. Even though we didn’t win, I was proud of how we tried our best even against a team who was on a different level.”

Ms. Christensen said, “The ladies played really hard against a very physical team. They were given lots of opportunities to grow and practice new skills. Even through injuries they kept their heads high and tried their best.”

Upcoming Games
