From the Director’s Desk

Dear BAIS Community,

Welcome back to many of you from your travels during the recent break. I know the rest before the busy 4th quarter is a welcome retreat for parents, students and the BAIS faculty and staff.

This week we were excited to send out the preliminary tuition announcement with respect to our underlying US dollar rates. (As mentioned in the letter, we are compiling exchange rate information and will be issuing IDR invoices the second week of April.) Despite continually increasing costs, we were able to keep our rate increases below 5% this year. In addition we introduced a reduced pricing model for our PreK program to draw more students into that program. So BAIS, the premier international school in Bandung offering an American based education system with the heartbeat of a Christian worldview, also remains the best value. We are so thankful to be able to partner with you in the education of your children.

As you know we are in the midst of our recruiting process and I have a few updates for you. Kristin Lane will be returning to BAIS after one year in the United States. Miss Lane had originally left with the plan of continuing her educational pursuits in the USA but will be rejoining the BAIS family as the kindergarten teacher. Additionally, we have hired Sun Hee Kim as our music teacher and Wanmei Luo to join the Mandarin teaching team. Candidate reviews and interviews are still ongoing, and we are looking forward to how God crafts the rest of our teaching team.

I pray the 4th quarter is one of continued tremendous growth in our students. Please join us in praying for our students, teachers, families, and for the recruitment and enrollment process.

In Christ,
Karl Nielsen
BAIS Director
