From the Elementary Principal’s Desk
Next Thursday and Friday, BAIS will have our annual Student-led Conferences. Student-led Conferences are a chance for the students to meet with their parents or guardian to reflect on their yearly progress, present their portfolios, and receive feedback on this year’s goals. Instead of the traditional conference where teachers are leading in English, during the Student-led conference, the PK-12th graders have the chance to lead these conferences in their language home language. BAIS chooses this particular style of conferencing because it provides the opportunity for students to understand and take ownership of their learning. We also feel that this conference structure builds better communication and stronger relationships with all families. Over these next few days, you should receive communication from your student’s elementary homeroom teacher with more detailed information regarding the date and time of your child’s conference. Please let the teacher know right away if you will be unable to attend the conference and will need to reschedule. We are hoping for 100% participation from each of our families. We look forward to seeing you sometime May 9th from 3 p.m – 7:30 pm. or May 10th from 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
Blessings,
Charity LaMertha Ed.S.
Elementary Principal
